Startinf to plan for MBA but have 0 idea how to start planning for GMAT. When should i aim to take the test, taking application deadlines into consideration? What do admissions think about GMAT scores that are 2 years old? I understand we are able to select which schools we send our scores to during testing day, how do you go about figuring what your target schools are? (Some may say see what scores you get but is this a chicken and egg situation?) any insight or recommendations appreciated!

My wife and I have 2 children. We got married young and I have handled all expenses since marriage. I've even paid for some of her schooling and have encouraged her to continue finishing her Bachelors (she has difficulty choosing what to study and insinuated that when I mention the drawbacks of certain fields, it puts her off studying at all, she's also in student loan debt because her family took out loans in her name and never paid them off).

Do you think an MBA in my scenario makes sense?
Currently a L62 at Microsoft as a PM, which is the post MBA level (I have 3 YOE). I have a desire to try out VC investing or ops, and an MBA might open up my doors. However, I’d be giving up a massive opportunity cost (in those 2 years I’d probably make senior pm at msft) and don’t need an MBA for lateral big tech moves. Don’t want to get an MBA and strike out at VC

Background: 24, 333 GRE, Ivy undergrad with 3.9 GPA, ORM male

Wrapping up an MBA this semester. I expect to finish with a 4.0 if that matters. Been self employed running a small business for the past 2.5 years, but the industry is going to be struggling for a while. I’ve been working as a mortgage professional for over 3 years now and have found it unfulfilling and draining, even with the industry where it’s currently at. Would returning to school to pursue an MBA or other masters degree afford me the opportunity to make a switch to PE? Have had a few friends in PE and some in consulting say the same. In this field, when choosing a masters degree program is it more beneficial to get a degree in Human Resources to further my knowledge in HR (my undergraduate degree is in Economics) , an MBA, or Data Science Degree due to the fact that HR is becoming more data driven as well as get a PHR / SHRM-CP certification?
