Can anyone shed some light on quant funds please? https://groww.in/mutual-funds/escorts-tax-plan-direct-growth
I am seeing stellar returns and extremely low expense ratios but apparently since they're quantitatively managed algorithms, they don't account for things like corona for example.

Any stock has the potential to lose a lot. I would figure out how much you can afford to lose and invest twice that in sp 500. If there is crash of 50 percent, not predicting anything but possible, you will be fine.
I’d do maybe a 70/30 or 80/20 mix of SCHD (blue chip dividend stocks) and SCHZ (bonds) which will pay you 1-3%. That would be enough equity exposure for you to realize most of the market’s overall gains, plus hedge against a crash by guaranteeing 3-4% cash return
