Is there a SHRM link, reliable test, or method of shadowing the various parts of HR that will provide a sample of the work, thinking, and day to day experience of each group? I didn’t go to school for HR and therefore haven’t had the opportunity to sample HR Ops. vs. TA vs. Comp vs. Benefits vs. Payroll, etc. I know work experience is the best barometer, but what can supplement this?

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Hi. I am desperate to change jobs. I have two offer in hands: Deloitte Hyderbad on a contract basis with 15% hike and KPMG Bangalore FTE with 25% hike. I like Deloitte as a brand better.
