How many files do you have in your caseload?
Ask about their views on coteaching (which can be awesome when done well), data teams/PLCs.
My number one for any school or role right now is just how are you supporting teachers and students during these times. Both Covid19-wise and safety-wise unfortunately, not to mention everything else we put up with.
Ask about the team you will be working with. For example how many schools does the social worker, psychologist have to cover.
Ask about their policies and procedures for students who don’t meet grade-level expectations by the end of the year. I’d also ask how solution-focused they are.
If you’re able to talk to teachers without admin, I would ask about how open they are to new ideas.
I always ask the committee why they love working there and I ask how developed their RtI process is!

I ask about the maximum case numbers and if SPED teachers have to do duty, IEP meetings are enough! More importantly make sure you are being offered a comparable salary if it's not unionized!!!
How do you want me to communicate with you and how often? Will you assist with behavior issues immediately and how? How will you be included in school-wide planning and communication, events, etc. What will your support team look like? What is the role of the school psychologist (I had one that was in my room daily and tried to tell me how to run my class, the principal depended on her....) How much autonomy will I have in planning and execution? What is your background and understanding of special education and law? Will I have a classroom budget?'
