In the end only you care about yourself. All your mentors, coaches etc have their own agenda when push comes to shove.

Drop anchor where your heart is. And don't be afraid to jump. A few years ago, product management and design jobs didn't exist. Reinvent yourself and jump.

Let it go. Still working on it.

I have several mentors that have no agenda what so ever in their care for me and my career. That being said, they aren't at EY. Alumni network, old C-suite boss, etc etc. I agree that internal people have their agenda but have mentors outside of BCG. Those are your true mentors.

Cool- love the anchor metaphor. Thanks!

You are right. I was specifically referring to people at the same firm. I also have a mentor in another industry who is always unbiased.

Got it. Totally agree with you.

Interviewing question: for anecdotal “tell me abt a time when..”, & similar questions - are you allowed to recycle stories from your undergrad years or do they only look for post grad/work stuff? Afraid some of the stories that sounded okay at undergrad recruiting might now come across as a bit “lightweight” in this context...like would they eye roll if we start talking about that one time we did a science competition sophomore year of college (even though it taught an important lesson)..etc.🤔

My SO and I are looking to invest in a beach front property in either Delaware or NC. We are using Redfin primarily for the search. We looked at a few airbnb calculators online to build our own. Plan on setting up llc as well for tax benefits.

Since this is the first time we are doing this, we are looking for any applicable advice or lessons learned from folks who have done this before, Tia!

I’m a SPED teacher, & my principals ALWAYS seem to visit my room as soon as I give my student(s) a break from their work or when they’ve finished early everything I had planned. They RARELY come in when I’m actually in the middle of making progress on a lesson. It makes me feel like I have to be defensive & justify why the students aren’t working. Does this happen to anyone else?

Can you guys help me figure out how to design some lessons where the students are (fairly) engaged but I don’t feel the need to give a grade. We’ve got A LOT of grades already, so I was hoping to design some lessons that I don’t need to grade, yet feel the students will still participate, be engaged, and even have some fun. I’m a CTE teacher if that helps. Thank you!

Lessons from GoT
- fake it till you make it
- really good people will either be put on shitty projects or chose to leave

Why someone wants to join TCS? Working for TATAs somehow gives you a life lesson to adjust with less. They don't give good hikes to loyal employees who are sticking with tcs in tough times. They discourage employess by not giving proper projects or work culture. Work life is imbalanced , personal life is imbalanced. No transparency for promotions, no fixed rules. They want seniors to leave voluntarily by suffocating them in their toxic environment. I would never ask anyone to join TCS.
