What type of Pharmacy job do you think is a safe choice now, as you look toward the next 10 to 20 years. In other words, which job should we look into now that will still be in-demand in the future (for example: inpatient pharmacy didn’t need a residency, but now many employers are asking for one. But those who are already experienced in the field can get a job easily)

What's the best way to network with buy side folks? I currently work on sell-side. I develop multi factor strategies.
Things I am trying :
1) Sending cold connection requests on LinkedIn to people having nothing or something in common.
2) My job requires solving client queries. And my clients are PMs or data scientists at hedge funds. So I connect with them on LinkedIn. But not sure how to move forward after getting connected.

What is your success story related with networking?

Is it possible for someone without a degree or tech experience to get a fully remote entry level SDR or BDR role? If so, how? My sister’s boyfriend was fairly successful at a call center a few years ago but has only worked low wage jobs since. Any steady job would be a step up. My current employer wants 2+ YOE in a “professional environment” for the BDR role, which would likely be a barrier even with a referral.

How does one most effectively make the transition into management from an Individual Contributor?

I've been an individual contributor for 4 years in Tech, have 8 years of experience total. I'm finding it difficult to make the management transition despite having management experience, performing beyond expectations, and having a genuine passion for enablement and development.

I'd appreciate any success stories or pointers you can offer in regards to this transition.

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director l, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.

My friend is having 25+ YOE in software development. He doesn't like management jobs. He wants to be in development related activities in his entire career.

How much it's possible? Upto how much age the one can hold development activities.

Most of the companies wants to handle management related activities too.

I recently went through trainer certification and I received some really confusing feedback. During certification we were told that in order to meet intent we should stick to the leader guide notes and we will be fine. I did this to a T and it was noted that I did, however the feedback that I received was that I should have created another unspecified unscheduled activity and had my learners visit an info page that was not referenced in the learning module or the leader guide notes. I’m lost.

PWC announced permanent WFH option and our partner just send out email saying there will be free breakfast 2days a week. We are in tax and people always say it's a people business and building bonds is important, but isn't PWC aware of that? looking at some trending businesses, Carvana, Opendoor, Peloton, Doordash, which one is encouraging more connection? Also I'm worried about our staffing because having a leader trying to get people back to office will make some feel they don't fit in here.

Are there more growth opportunity in Tax provision or Investment tax? I work for a financial services firm and want to go up the chain. But the recent tax provision manager opening will be filled. The senior director has hinted that investment tax accounting can be "my baby".

Why firm is “begging” for employees? I mean firm is now paying more and adding more benefits to show what can employee get and try to keep or attract them. Aren't they know that in a romantic relationship, the more you say “please don't leave me, I will do anything for you ”, the easier the other party to control you? and you will not get respect? I'm an employee wants more, just a question to discuss about the firm's strategy.

PSA: Long hours, burnout, understaffing, and the health issues they precipitate are not anomalies that can be coached or organized away. They are inherent features of the PA firm work model and they exist by design. They are fundamental to the partner to employee pay differential and they aren’t going away because like chain mail schemes in the 90´s firms feed and rely in the naïveté of their mid tier employees. So take heed and be sure to self care this summer because October is coming.
