Dear fishes, I accepted offer from tech m and informed them 3 weeks prior to my tentative date in mail stating I will not be joining. Today, the HR called and threatened that he will put me in blacklist so that I cannot join any big companies for the next 10-12 years. Throughout the call, I spoke in a polite tone but the HR spoke harshly telling I wasted his time and stuff like that. My question is, Can they really put me in blacklist for other companies? I think you decide the "good time", we always have the insecurity and that's why we decide to keep waiting for a better time but good things happen when we decide to act to achieve what we want.
I would say move somewhere close to the metro, being able to navigate a city without a car is such a blessing. I think a good time to sign a lease is when you feel like your financial future is decently stable at least for the duration of the lease
I would also recommend having at least two or three months worth of rent saved up before getting a place, just so you can have a bit of safety net if anything happens
If you can get by without a car, I would highly suggest it. One of my favorite perks of living in Boston is how walkable it is. As for when it's a good time, that depends on your job security and monthly income. If you can get a roomate on board that can make it way easier to move into a city cause it's not cheap honestly
