What would be your suggestions for a BA Manager moving into a Advisory Manager role at B4? I am good with Industry knowledge and implementations but not been too much in PPTs and Excels.

Have a little less than 1YOE at my firm (started in Sept) - is it a bad idea to apply now or should I wait to the 1YOE mark? Would it be a bad idea to cold apply? Don't want to miss out entirely on the hiring spree but also worried about being dinged due to relatively little experience. I don't have a lot of connections at the firms but can probably pull together a referral in the next few months with some networking.

Is it hard to get into big tech from big 4 tech consulting after 3+ years? I tried at 2 yoe and didnt get any FAANG interviews. I was also targeting data analytics roles and it seems pretty tough. No referrals... I will try again in probably a year but really hoping to hear some success stories. All my offers were in consulting 😭😭😭😭

Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?

Does anyone at the Junior or mid-level here not aspire to be a creative director? I was in a conversation with some coworkers today about the advertising career ladder. Applying to industry after 2 yrs in a data-heavy strategy consulting role, and running into an odd problem: people are automatically putting me into a "heavy-quant" box and becoming apprehensive of my fit for a business role (strategy, FP&A, etc). 2 Qs: 1. Does this sound plausible, or am I overthinking based on a small sample? 2. How would you highlight your fit/interest in moderately quantitative roles? Consultants generally like my "Context> result> personal contribution" format of bullets

I’ve had countless interviews at a few agencies, all with 4-5 interviews taking months at a time to continue to receive the email “we went with another candidate but everyone loved your experience and thought you’d be great”. I feel so down right now, and I keep thinking it’s me. How do you stop feeling so discouraged? I’m still at my current company/role, I’m just not happy at all so looking to find something/someplace new.

Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?
