This thought after 420? And not high? Something doesn't add up
That sort of technology would be so transformative, on par or even moreso than the industrial or digital revolution it would change the world completely. It would increase efficiencies but societies and governments will need to adapt so people don’t get screwed over in the process. So whether it’s better or worse for humanity depends on how it’s handled.
Then all of them could teleport to their homes? It’s like nuclear weapons, MAD
Crime would probably explode too
hotels arguably would be too affected, especially those for leisure
Potentially, but when I travel I want breakfast in bed not to do my own washing up after so I’d be inclined to stay at a hotel. Then again if we are saying teleportation is real I’d probably have a robot which maintains my home.
Yes, I could teleport my kid to school and myself to work at the same time. Awesome.
I wouldn’t have to worry about my kid (she’s 11) on public transportation and I’d save $900/month between car payment, gas, insurance, parking, tickets, maintenance, break-ins, etc.
As a first step wouldn’t we subsidize car manufacturers to develop teleport models, and train ship/train/truck operators on how to move cargo via teleport, (hotels would do better as we could teleport right to any for a vaca), and airline pilots/staff could be trained to operate the teleport devices the prior car manufacturing companies would have made, and lastly we’d be rid of public transportation because it’s a huge tax drain anyway and we could just train all public transportation employees to operate local teleport services instead.
Obviously I am a huge proponent for teleportation. We could get rid of all the food delivery apps and just teleport to restaurants to put in and pick up our orders in person again. I’d love that too.
Chief
Board? Yeah, you might be high.
If teleportation had zero carbon footprint, I would be all for the economic shift.
How would we stop an army from teleportation right into our living rooms?
You should get hold of some Ghost and ask this question😅
All sorts of efficiencies in production. Similar to how much stuff is made somewhere else because of the adoption of shipping containers. The internet is having a similar effect as well. How do you choose which remote worker to hire from the whole world's population? Space travel would be easier since zero cost to put anything into orbit or directly on the moon.
