Is this bowl dead?
KPMG I cleared all the rounds of my interview with KPMG and was asked to provide necessary documents and fill a CAF form a week back and had a HR discussion too. I have requested for about 3Lakhs additional fixed pay since my current CTC has increased and HR said she will get back on this. It's been a week and haven't heard back on the offer letter. How long do you think I should wait. Please wait.
Hi Amazonians. Can you share the work culture in Retail tech team or in Amazon in general. I've received an SDE1 offer. I have other offers from Microsoft and Goldman Sachs as well. I am really confused between Amazon and Microsoft. All the people I've talked to have said to take the Microsoft offer. Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Is there any other answer other than more money?
Money is the obvious #1, but something to be said for opportunities. Unlikely you’d jump and get put in a great stretch opportunity right away - especially if you are at a new partner and don’t have a track record of success yet.
M3 I think you and I are coworkers

Trust me, the key people are paid well ( $180k+ ) and are getting good raises. The younger ones still paying their dues and making a name for themselves just have to jump firms to market correct their salary until they find the right support from the partners to excel and keep getting promoted.
I agree with the above. All else the same, the market is hot for WD practitioners and recruiters/competitors are paying for talent.
For promotions don’t expect project work and additional firm development work
Good luck with that lol
I’m “new” talent (less than 2 YOE).
I truly enjoy what I do. Almost left due to leadership. Jumped to new leadership and I’ve been happy with my change.
I’m staying due to the support I currently have in my pod. Once they leave I’m following. It’s great when you have directors and senior managers that support you and care about your career. I appreciate how candid they are about my practice and the feedback I get from them.
It also helps when they are advocates and help me get certified in modules I’m interested in. Also when they share their international resources.
More money, and reduced travel indefinitely.
Money + allow me to work from another city. I’m ok with going to the office but just hate the state I’m in and they won’t let me move. In this day and age that’s just plain stupid
D2, it sounds like you’re making excuses and slightly bitter, which isn’t going to get you very far. Rather than dwell on the past, I’d focus on how you’re going to change your situation.
How long have you been at the firm? Is there a formal process (certainly there must be) for transferring out of SDC? Do you have partner support for it? Focus on starting to take your career into your own hands.
How much of a bump minimum would attract you to move
30%
Well for me I love my job and company but still looking out for opportunities as they haven't confirmed green card sponsorship. Additional pains of being on visa

Aside from the obvious compensation, people want to have opportunities to further their career. This could involve getting certified for different modules, getting involved with business development, being challenged with new tasks etc. It can be a more powerful form of equity than just jumping for another 20%. For example if I jumped on a supply chain project for a couple of years, when I leave, I could demand a 50% raise instead just based on market conditions. Spending time at the big4/acn is just obtaining all the prerequisites you need to jump to a much higher paying tech / FAANG product or technical manager job.
Not current company but I would have stayed if work life balance was better or at least had a plan in place to help their workers who have consistently worked 60+ hour weeks for months.
No, smaller firm
