Anyone have any experience moving from Deloitte Advisory commercial to federal? I'm wondering about the difference in utilization metrics, pay, and how responsive leadership is to that request.
Does Accenture really “not have utilization?” This seems unlikely or like a half truth, what is the catch?
Consultant joined last year in fall. Performed well, Utilization 89%, PE 2, PRD of 70 hours, Applause award but still got a Rating of 3. Is it fair? I am feeling so demotivated.
EY's fiscal year ends in June and effective July 1st utilization resets. How fitting that there is a heavy emphasis on keeping utilization up in the coming weeks. 😂
Question for EY ppl - what's the truth about the blackout period for utilization tracking in May and June?
How many consultants (perhaps at M/SM level) exited to big tech, and finds the scope of work is super insignificant & your consulting/management experience under utilized?
ACN: when we bill time to recruiting does it count same as unassigned or does it help utilization a bit?
I get really anxious when I don’t have much to do at work, I start worrying I’m going to get in trouble for being under utilized.. does anyone else ever experience this?
I was utilized 82% this past year and received a 5. I also seniored multiple engagements this year. EY better bring the Brinks truck for comp discussions.
Staffed most of the year but low utilization (<40%) due to partners asking team not to bill. I have read other posts that say to ask for non-charge code when this happens. If projects are (continued)
People keep using the term “low performer” when speaking to possible lay offs. Is this defined just by looking at utilization % or is it more focused on client delivery/performance?
I know there are variations of this thread, but what is Alvarez & Marsal target comp for a Manager in CPI if you hit say ~90% utilization? Is that 140k base + 50% bonus? Or higher?
Question: What incentive do consultants have to work more efficiently than coworkers since billing is done hourly, not by deliverable? A relevant hypothetical: 1. Consultant A can get task X done in 2 hours. 2. Consultant B can get task X done in 8 hours. 3. Let both A & B work an 8 hour work day. 4. In 8 hours, A can complete task X four times while B completes task X once. 5. Since consulting is billed hourly, both consultants get the same utilization and billable hours from the client.
Promotion to senior after 1 yr is pure BS. Why do firms do this? One year is not enough to expose one to enough variety and develop expertise to review and teach others. Encouraging mediocrity?!
I have one interview round left with a startup. It’s with a member of the company’s c-suite and has been rescheduled twice (still waiting on the new time to come through). I’ve told myself that it’s completely normal with someone at that level but also worry that it might be because I’m not being seriously considered. Am I overthinking? The hiring manager had told me she wanted a 2/1 start date but based on this last interview being moved, that wouldn’t work and is part of the reason Im concernd
Anyone here have ADHD? I'm interested to hear your experiences of how that interacts with a high-pressure, working all hours kinda job. Happy to hear from partners/spouses of ADHD folks too. My partner was diagnosed a few years ago and we are making slow but steady progress in terms of him articulating how that makes certain things really hard for him. He's a tax lawyer so occasionally pulling crazy hours, more so lately. We are both still WFH, which doesn't help.
Does anyone have insight into Senior Manager comp at Canadian life sciences or large retailers (with a focus on commercial strategy or brand/category management)?
Hey all, just starting out with FIRE and I am looking at healthcare options during enrollment, it looks like HDHP plans have a HSA option but I am concerned about whether of not it is worth the higher deductable if I am also planning on getting a therapist, any help would be appreciated!
Uber just announced a rewards program across its brand platform (article in comments) - thoughts over using this over Lyft? (Lyft gives miles through JetBlue for airport rides and Delta for all rides)
Three years from now, will my salary be higher if I stay and make manager or if I leave to get top 25 mba and go into industry(maybe consulting)?
What percentage of your income do you put away in a roth or 401k? I’m currently doing 20% (have been doing around 15% the past few years) but not sure if I should scale back a bit to help save for a future house
Non MBBers, which of the MBB would you choose if you had a choice? Why? Deloitte is not an answer.
"Use this time off to disconnect" they said, "stay in close contact this week," they also said....
Any considerations when disclosing to the firm that your wife is pregnant? Debating when to share the news...
I'm looking for a consultant / independent contractor to help lead the PMO for the joint venture of 2 large firms. The role is based in Chicago for 12 months. If anyone is interested or knows someone who would be a good fit, can you drop me a DM. Experience in the construction industry is a bonus.
I’m in a V30’s overseas office for a 2 years contract. The culture is toxic, the firm doesn’t provide enough training and support for first years and I’m regretting the decision of moving for the firm. I don’t have a perfect GPA but have relatively interesting undergraduate internships/startup experience. What are the things I can do outside of work to make me more competitive for top-tier firms when I jump ship? I know this might sound a bit entitled but I’d really appreciate some advice!
Who wants a referral? Got my eyes on DT but will to explore other options. IT Advisory in DC or ATL
I had very positive feedback on my interviews for a S&O role but the team hired someone internally. If I interview again for a differenr role, would I have to do all the interviews again or can I use some of the scores from previous interviews. I understand doing RRK again makes sense but what about GCA, googlyness or leadership . Thank you
Currently a FSO senior. Can someone (preferably someone who recently went through this process) share some insight on FDD interviews and how they prep for them?
Partner on my project came in as I was working and asked me if he could help me in any way. I responded, "nah, the work I'm doing is probably above your pay grade" #mondayjokes #helaughed
