What would you do if you had 2 weeks of bench time or vacation right now? Go to India to meet family or roam around US by yourself

After a week on the bench, Friday loses its appeal...

Day 1 of a two week long vacation, wish me luck, as work has been my steady ritual of the mind to stay busy and ignore the isolation.

What kind of PTO does everyone's firm offer? I get 20 days of PTO plus all federal holidays.

Need advice is this healthy behavior? It strikes me as possessive and toxic. MIL & FIL are demanding husband and I go on a trip with them and brother in law as a family. Are mad that we haven’t gone on a vacation together as a family ? Flipped out at dinner last bright because we want to do NYEs together as a couple instead of go on a trip with them + extended family to middle of nowhere canadA. Started gossiping about us on the other side of the room, in front of extended family.

Thoughts on "unlimited PTO" policies? I'm guessing it could be good, or terrible, depending on who's in charge of approving leave requests...

On bench. How long do I wait before I quit? Working on personal projects. I don’t want to quit as soon as they try to staff me so I have a better chance at rehire in a few years...

Am I the only one who is adamant about calling an arbitration an arbitration and a court trial a trial (or bench trial)? I don’t like using trial and arbitration interchangeably because while they’re similar they’re still not the same. Anybody else share this sentiment?

My wife is pregnant. Do the general courtesies of telling your manager/work beginning of 3rd trimester still apply during covid/work from home? Her industry has been hit hard and her job has been doing furloughs and layoffs. We can get pretty far without telling due to WFH but don’t want to put her boss in a bad position either.

Hi 🐠! Class of 2017 here and found out yesterday that I’m being held back a year (as a 3rd year instead of 4th). I feel totally blindsided / actually cried on the Zoom. I’ve reached out to partner-mentor in other groups and they explained that this isn’t a demotion but an opportunity to have more time to acquire mid-level skills before being thrust into that role & failing. I GET that but I feel this is something that should have been messaged BEFORE the review. Such an erosion of trust. Advice?

Being rolled off a project passively...what to do?

All-my dad has been guilt tripping me into visiting him. He is 8 hours away driving without stopping. I am pregnant and am not traveling anywhere where I can’t drive non stop - not even seeing my in laws 90 minutes away. I know it sounds crazy but that is where I am. He half jokingly said I could wear Depends. Please tell me I’m not crazy and that it’s okay for me to not go and my dad should be at least somewhat understanding.
