Hello,
I am looking to pivot from the beauty industry to the tech industry. A hiring manager from LinkedIn reached out to me about a position LinkedIn. I reached the case study stage and haven’t heard back. Not sure what to do next. It’s been difficult tying to make this move. I am open to any advice or mentorship’s.
I am currently interviewing at TikTok for the Content Partnerships Lead role. Can anyone share some insight into the salary bands in the Sub-Saharan African market? Should I benchmark with the global rates?
Any tips and experiences interviewing in this region are also welcome - and highly appreciated! :)
I have interviewed with Slalom Consulting for Principal role (AEM technology) and waiting for the final decision. I’m in Greater Washington DC area. I have about 10 years experience. How is the culture at Slalom DC? What about work life balance? In terms of salary, what is a good base salary to consider? Will they provide bonus? Any difference between Principal and Sr. Principal?
Hey sharks,
Does HCL considers the location change request before joining. I had given the interview and later got to know it's Noida location. Currently in Pune. So would they be able to change the location or they would ask me to join in Noida only. Kindly help.

If I was firm a and you tried to leverage the offer, I would be pissed and tell you no. If you said you got another offer after accepting ours and now you are declining ours to go to B, I might be upset but won’t be pissed. I may then ask you if we can match the offer but it’s my choice, not a gun to my head.
We're lawyers we negotiate for a living. Bargain and say hey I got this offer at firm B I think I'm going to have to accept it unless you counter their offer.
I think you can negotiate as long as you’re ok with a firm saying no to you and then going to firm b

How effective were your salary/sign on bonus negotiations with firm a? If you maxed out the offer you already accepted I seriously doubt that they will come up by virtue of you having offer b. However if you didn’t effectively negotiate to to the top of firm a’s employment package you may have a chance of getting them to increase their offer - but I think the likelihood of getting any substantial increase is slim. There is a 100% chance that trying to leverage firm a will poison your relationship with firm a probably not enough to result in them retracting the offer but will def piss them off.
Other considerations are the size of the firms, salary structure of associates and overall need - if you are in a hot practice group eg bankruptcy or insurance coverage you might have a chance to land a signing bonus.
I think it would set you up on a bad foot with firm A if you tried to renegotiate with them. I wouldn’t advise that if you want to choose firm A. That said, if you want firm B, go with firm B. You don’t owe either of them anything. This is your life and they will use you up. Go with what you think is the better offer and don’t bat an eye. They won’t loose sleep over it and neither should you.

If you accepted and then tried to renegotiate I would laugh, say “good luck,” and hire someone else. Every. Single. Time.
