Was recruited away from consulting last year to lead M&A at PE-owned company (<$100M). 3 acquisitions later, things going well. CEO is my boss who has invested a lot in me. Good WLB. Am now being recruited by F100 company to lead M&A biz dev. Go from big fish in small pond to small fish in big pond. TC comparison: currently $220k annual cash + estimated $400k-$800k in equity upon sale vs $300k annual cash + $30k-$50k annual equity. Future WLB predicted to be more intense. Curious your thoughts.

Taking a new role in industry after 2 years in public. It’s about a 70% increase from current salary and between 25-30% increase from expected salary after promotion to Senior (find out later today what my new figure would have been). It’s a remote position making solid money and interesting work/field. Just worried I’m leaving public too soon. Raises will be 2-4% in new role until promotion so I will catch up in public about 3-4 years from now. Thoughts?

This is a question which I'm curious about people's thoughts. Mostly reflecting on the past since I'm way too far in audit to make a career change. Did I make a mistake by not trying for law school? I took the LSAT when I was a first year associate and got a 168. At this point, the score expired and would need to retake. I know law is riskier than audit. But a part of me wonders if I'd have been better off (except more student loans) if I went to law school instead of sticking with audit?
