What would you do? 1. AA monday morning 830am and AA Thursday 6pm lands at 930pm. 2. AA Monday morning 830am and United 4pm. Would take forever to get status but better work life balance.

After 36 years of employment, 13 years in consulting-do what’s best for you and your family and don’t look back. Hindsight is 20/20! In the long run, worrying about 2 hours is meaningless. If you’re a good worker and get your work done timely and accurately, just go for it!

I’d say the second for the reasons stated above. That’s when I leave my current project and the client is fine with it. But, if you expect a busy week or find you need the extra time, you could always switch

4pm is too early to fly out on Thursday IMO

Thanks for the input, Kyle

4 pm is fine to leave.

Tier 2.5 city. No traffic, no PreCheck lines, top status. I didn’t stop moving between when I packed up my bag at the office to when I sat down on the plane, including dropping off the rental car. It was glorious

like

Second one. You can always do status challenges to help you get it faster. Status isn’t worth 6 hours away from family each week.

I think it’s two hours every week

First one IMO. It's just 2 hours extra, and 4pm is too early to leave anyway.

likefunny

Anything after 2 PM means getting late for dinner.

Second one, People don't seem to understand but you get status to make your life easier in the long run. You don't make your life worse to get it.

One airline. Status rules.

Status is way more important than time with your wife

In fact, preferable.

4pm. No brainer IMO. You have an extra night to go out, date, meet friends, catch up with family and best of all avoid Thursday afternoon client meetings!

What’s the Monday morning United option?!

like

First one. It’s only a two hour difference, and the lower tiers for airline status suck.

like

I leave before noon on Thursdays. Flying coast to coast though.

Thanks all. To those that asked the is no United monday morning.

I've flown Sunday night just to stick with United. Sure, it eats into the weekend, but I hate low status more. Besides, you re-earn hotel status faster.

These clowns saying the early flight is too early..jfc. I’ve never left my client site after 3pm on a Thursday(without duress). I’ve never been dinged, my clients never doubted me, and no ones ever said a thing. Not in reviews not in feedback not “friendly” chat. I genuinely don’t get it.
