Nothing. Tell him/her that it's a stupid part of the interview because anyone can put anything on there.

I bailed on a Dropbox interview because of this… with what their salary range was, it was ridiculous to perform both an extensive account and then mock call based on the account plan and their industry/product.

I denied all other offers for a Senior AE position and took my current cause they didn’t make me do this BS. They had me talk to 3 managers and sent offer asap. To be fair almost everyone did. 90 day plan? F that lol 90 day plan is for them to teach you as much as possible to succeed lol

To the person saying 'nothing' I don't agree. This doesn't have to be hard, and if you're not willing to put some thought into the role it's probably not a good fit. People are becoming spoiled in this job market 😒

It should be easy and doesn't have to be an exact science. They just want to see you're capable of thinking through how you'll approach your job. I've run companies and sales orgs and any kind of basic thought that gets you to a rational location is acceptable.

My suggestion, for what it's worth, is to think about it as a sales funnel with volume and conversion rates that ultimately lead to you hitting quota in a normal amount of time. Lean into the current facts and figures if you can.

As an example -
Month one - training and self-guided industry exploration.
Month two - xx # activities per day, resulting in yy # meetings, resulting in zz # opportunities, resulting in aa # closed won deals at a bb% close rate and $ACV.
Month three - same as month two, but maybe slightly increased activities and conversion rates.

If you can't think through numbers like that, learn to. Reach out if I can help.

Casey Baum

You missed the point.

So I think I got ghosted by a recruiter... Had a screening interview that went well and ended in them wanting me to talk to the team. That was on Monday, now it's Friday and I haven't heard from them to schedule interviews. I sent a follow up yesterday and still haven't heard anything... Should I be worried?

Guilt and shame about working in a legal position for years where, instead of using my law degree (was supposed to do legal work per the job posting), I served as a personal assistant to my boss/did nothing for maybe half the time. I feel like I was paid for work I didn't do. I've since left that job but the guilt and shame remains. I feel that I lack the character of a lawyer and that I am unworthy of the profession. I don't know how to make up for the lost years or how to forgive myself.

I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?

Additional Posts in Sales

Hi there, I got an offer for an early stage cyber security saas startup in Canada and they offered me 130k base and 10-15% commissions which they estimated at 160-240k additional a year. They only have 1 sales person at the moment and I would be 2nd and they are hiring for 3 more. I’ve always been on a 50:50 model and never done the % of revenue. Average deal size is 40k. I got 12 yoe in enterprise tech sales. No stock options upfront but potentially after the first 3 months. Good deal?
