That’s hard to answer now considering the fact that everyone’s doing remote productions and we’re all in the same boat of figuring it out. At this point, the senior producers are asking the same questions as the associate producers on my team.
Mentor
This is a really good shout.
Handling of bigger budgets and teams
Trust from creative leadership that they do not have to copy in the producer’s boss on important emails.
Experience, ability to manage bigger teams and more complex projects
Very slight differences, depending on the agency. A senior producer usually has more years of experience, possibly global shoot experience also, and direct client interaction. But these days they are close.
So what does that mean then if it’s harder to distinguish? Currently a senior producer at a haircare company that is in complete chaos but does some really great stuff... just not feeling so hot about my pay and starting to feel insecure about the trajectory of my career and what next step I’m working toward. What are others working toward?
