35 years old- $155K in 401K

Current allocation for future contributions:
80% FXAIX (S&P 500)
20% FGKFX (growth)

Have about 30% in target date fund (FHDDX) and trying to cash out and either 1) throw it in above allocation 2) cash out SOME and hold in money market and buy dips. I think summer will be volatile

Is Amex really worth it? My wife has a platinum card, and I have a Gold card - mostly because we used to travel a lot for work, but this has changed since COVID. Amex is increasing platinum fees to $675 a year, which would normally be a lot, but even more so when we're not using airline lounges, Uber kickbacks, travel perks, etc. nearly as much as we used to.

Risk averse investor here. My investing consists of buying shares of the S&P index fund (VOO). I tend to stay away from individual stocks due to lack of knowledge and time. I switched companies this past September and my new firm doesn’t match until after a year. They also match on a per period basis. With that being said, it makes sense for me to hold off on contributing to my 401k at all until October, and then contribute enough to max it with my Oct-Dec paychecks, correct? I’ll miss out on the gains for 9 months, but don’t want to miss out on the free money either.

I got offered by my financial advisor to enter a closed private equity fund that has the objective (not guarantee) to 2x the capital in 10 years. That would mean a consistent 7.2% p.a. though I won't be able to sell, which is not a problem.

Do you think it's worth it?

I use this financial advisor because he's a family friend and I pay close to no fee and it was a nice way of getting into investing.
