@M1, our M&A guys can be a bit cocky, but they work crazy long hours and most come from a culture of finance where most people act like that. I would encourage you to not let that experience cloud your judgement of a firm with over 25,000 members.
Interviewed at a company that said 70%+ of their employees have been there for at least 12 years. While some may see that as a close knit culture and may be true it was a red flag to me: less young people, less open to new ideas or ways of doing things
Deloitte - I've met 5 people from there, and they have all talked about how cool their lives for 15-30 min before I could even introduce myself. Points to garbage culture
Tobacco companies and private prison systems. As a black man I can't support firms that actively benefit from discrimination towards African Americans.
McKinsey, I've worked with their M&A consultants on deals and they were full of themselves
Infosys, Tata, WiPro
Indian owned = Employees aren't human.
Source: I'm brown. Worked for an Indian company before. Have had friends work for those consulting companies before and their treatment of employees is unheard of.
^ D2 is an idiot.
Any company with zero based budgeting. Because f doing that every year.
Defense firms and weapons manufacturers- I don't support companies who profit from needless wars we have no business being involved with. It's blood money.
Same can be said of our m&a people
Any consulting company. Once I exit I'm not coming back
Equifax
MCK2, agreed. Same can be said of all our posts on here. Quite frankly, we shouldn't judge any firm based on experiences with a few people from that firm.
I'd never work for government. Particularly this one.
Amazon, Alix, weapons, prison, tobacco, Indian/Russian owned, oil&gas, Koch industries and associated firms.
No NDA breaches, porfa 🤫
Idk that I'd work for Amazon
I was with Infosys and congnizant for 10 years in each company. Stock options made me over 2 millions. It is not as bad as it was portrayed from the work culture ( if you are good and a true expert who can sell).
Ross Dress for Less department stores because they wouldn't take back my flip flops, claimed it was a final sale.
@M1 agreed. I worked at another MBB firm before McK because I based my decision on interactions with a few individuals during recruitment but found the culture there wasn't right for me. So after 2.5 years, I transferred to McK
The Army because they are baby killers
