What’re the most tangible benefits of using a more traditional brokerage over Robinhood? Signing up for another brokerage is quite a bit of work

You can open an account with fidelity in a matter of minutes. Not sure what you consider quite a bit of work. I assume other places are just as easy. I assume the most tangible benefit is it is more stable and not as likely to crash.

For me it’s auto deposits from vanguard and trust on the backend when it comes down to withdrawals and tax tracking.

Trust it won’t go down randomly?

Like our PortCos? 😭

I always recommend have at least two brokerage accounts, one at two different companies, if you’re an avid trader. Every company has glitches. When it happens, just use the other platform.

Underscore this. I don't think vanguard was restricting trading of meme stocks like robinhood did.

Merrill Edge has perks tied to BofA, no brainer if you are a BofA customer. Fidelity, super easy UI.

I agree. As a BAC and Merrill customer, I can transfer large amounts of money and trade immediately. It also helps to get the 5.25% cash back on my credit cards.

If you plan on opening short positions it will be easier to borrow shares from larger brokerage houses.

Fidelity allows me to manage multiple accounts on my profile. Ira, Roth, long term brokerage, fun brokerage

Not really, I use Robinhood for quick buys in-app because I find it to be more user friendly/less clicks than the Fidelity app. Most of my portfolio is in Fidelity but I use RH and Webull to share my promo codes for some extra $$ 😈

At Morgan Stanley I have access to products others don’t. They have these structured products that for example are 1.5x the s&p or a certain index yet give you 25-40% downside protection. The catch is your money is locked in for 3-10+ years. But way worth it the first time I did it.

Morgan Stanley has a platform? Which products are these?

I feel like there is an easier way to do this on line learning. Same grade teachers at the same school should be one big group. For example: One teacher has the discussion or lecture and does the presentation to all classrooms. One teacher mans the computer to answer questions that come in and handles any tech issues. Another teacher grades assignment and takes role and handles the admin part. Wouldn’t this be easier? Teachers could rotate or just stay in one role.
