I’ve spent months asking for a promotion for him, trying to push his career forward and got no traction. I know i did my best. He knows i tried. I still believe i work at a good place but i feel like we’re losing focus. I feel my boss is leaving soon. It’s a mess.

I’m working on my application for a role at Google. Is there a particular time frame from the time the posting appeared, within which I should target submitting the application? E.g., the position got posted on LinkedIn on Monday and it may take a week to network a bit, complete the application and submit. Do you think I should rather try to submit it earlier? Is there specific time, from the time of posting, till which they typically accept the applications? Thanks! 🙏🏻
Currently working as a QA in a well known organization. I'm a fresher and have only been working for 10 months. Currently joined a Google certification course for data analytics. Will I be able to switch to IBM with the certification? Or will I need some more certifications/qualifications? I am learning R and excel as well. Am well versed in python and DBMS.

Everything I'm seeing suggests this prosecutor is incompetent, and that makes me very, very nervous.
Partners: what do you want to hear and see from your associates given everything that's going on? Are check ins and more updates than usual annoying or wanted due to lack of face time?
I am conflicted. I had an assignment due recently and I am not pleased with my work. I am a person that takes pride in what I submit to my supervising partner (even though 95% of the time he changes everything—when I know it was great to begin with) With this assignment I was not there at the start of it: litigation commence in 2013 and I got hired last year and was put on the assignment in March of this year. In addition, my boss never gives me a full picture of what he wants and long story…
I’m so bad at writing the background/ facts section for briefs… it always gets heavily edited and no one is giving me constructive feedback other than “advocate more”. In contrast, my legal argument section is generally without edits. For context, first defense lit job post appellate clerkship. Is this normal?? Any tips for getting better other than “advocating more”?

My assistant is a nice person who has worked worth me for about 1.5 years. I have a solo family law practice, and she excels at dealing with clients, which is great. Unfortunately, her attention to detail sucks and it is making me crazy. For example, I told her to find the order entered that required OV to comply with discovery within x number of days. She comes in my office and tells me no such order was entered. It takes me about 3 minutes to find the order, which was about 2 orders (cont)

I have thought about working for the government (USCIS, ICE, OPLA) or even going private. Any advice on how I should continue to develop my career? I would like to stay in the immigration realm.
