I'm from Baltimore, and lately, we have had a crazy buying spree, I mean I have sold the same property 2 times in less than 2 weeks, and the person who bought it immediately put it on the market and made an average of $25k in less than 5 days. Many reports show that investing in Baltimore and Philadelphia is the future, I don't doubt it. What is the fastest you have ever resold a property?
The general advice I’ve heard is that you should have about 1x your annual salary in your retirement account by age 30
Literally no way I could have a year salary in my 401k by 30... yikes
Could someone give a real answer that at least helps OP think through it? Op as one datapoint I am 33 and have about $175k. But started making decent money at 28 post mba so didn’t contribute much before that. And had huge loans so wasn’t putting in as much as I could till now.
Thanks for some insight McK, much appreciated!
Here we go again 🙄

As A1 and some others said, 1x your salary at age 30 is a good sign you're on the right track and a good rule of thumb. I'm 28 with ~$110k
33 about $100k as well

I got 60k ⚰️
28, I have around 120K in it. Haven’t really maxed out until this year, but have always had a solid employer match.
definitely at least 1 USD
I’m 31 with ~175k for another data point OP.
1x current salary. So about 150-240k or so. Don’t stress if you’re behind just max out from now on
Yes maxing out is hitting the contribution limit in a given year. I think 19.5k this year.
Have ~220k in mine at 33
26 and I have 3.5k 🤪
