What’s a good area to live between LA and Irvine? My husband will be going to school at UCI and most of my clients are going to be in the LA area. We don’t have kids so looking for leasing an apartment. We are moving to Cali in the summer. Thank you!

Long Beach is probably your best bet. The greater LA area is huge tho. Do you have any idea where your clients are likely located?

Also, welcome to California but please don’t say Cali. No one here says that.

I say Cali, so cal. Locals like their initials- LA, TO, OC, HB, SF, MDR. Just don’t say Frisco. That’s in Texas!

Long Beach. I live here and I like the convenience of going to Irvine and LA. LA is huge though, so would be helpful to know where in LA you’d be spending your time as that will determine commute time.

Los Alamitos/Rossmoor area is just delightful

Very close to freeways going north to la, and southeast to irvine

like

Depends on where in the LA area you’re talking about. Difference between Hollywood LA and East LA and West LA can be 1hr+.

Driving to Irvine from LA during rush hour in general will be faster than the other way around. Getting to LA is a pain from all freeways during those times.

like

Totally agree. Better to have one long commuter than 2

Long Beach or Whittier perhaps?

like

Following.

Depends on your lifestyle.
Scenario 1 living in Long Beach/Lakewood: Morning commute into Orange County AKA the Orange Crush makes driving from Long Beach to UCI approximately around 30-60 minute depending on construction and traffic. From Long Beach into DTLA, if you don't use the Fastrak toll road, your commute will be around 60-75 minutes depending on accidents. Evening commute is the same
Scenario 2 living in Costa Mesa: morning commute to UCI is around 15 minutes, but your commute to DTLA is at least 75 minutes evening commute is the same.

I am so tired of my sister and mom, and the pressure they apply on me to get married, 32 year old female and I have not met someone yet. I was in a relationship last year for a year and he turned out to be a very mean person and they now don’t trust me at all and want me to marry the first nice guy I go on a date with even if I have no attraction at all, and if I go on a couple of dates and I don’t feel it, they question my judgement. I feel like dying from the pressure.
