185-250+ depending on industry.
OP asking about total comp. Not unrealistic to be on the lower end of that scale with cash sign, potential stock and performance bonus
Responding to you and Deloitte1 at the same time. I think $185-250k is very high, but salaries for product manager at FAANG will be wildly different than general strategy at a non-tech F500. We also don’t know where your consulting experience is from (I mean no shade, but MBB will likely have higher comp vs a T3 firm). You need to be a little more specific with your target and background.
As someone with over 3 YOE who has tested the market quite a lot, and had conversations with FAANG and top startups, $250k for a non-product or SWE role would the top that I’ve seen. Best I’ve gotten so far is $220-ish, but $180k is more normal, and you very often get $140-160.
So I am looking for both Base and TC. Non tech background. Consulting is Big 4 but a good group within, so not a generic PMO role
If you don’t have a tech background then PM may be out. I’d say anything $180k TC and above should be considered very strong offers. $160-180k may be more what you come across, and $140-160k will be lower end but also somewhat common in non-tech industries.
