HELP! I’ve been contacted by a small private security firm who wants me to be their “on call” counsel. They describe it as a lot of contract review, drafting NDAs, etc. but also being there if/when they need to license a vehicle, defend civil suit, etc. It’s overwhelming but sounds like a really great opportunity. I have enough background to be comfortable with contracts and litigation, but don’t want to get myself into a mess. Has anybody else ever had a job like this?

Just a question, maybe more of a vent, but I have been a paralegal for almost 6 years and worked in 3 different law firms and there is always 1 partner that just doesn’t want to do any work but also doesn’t want to retire. And I have always been the main/only paralegal for them. They are always confused about how to practice, don’t remember or just avoid the work. I have no idea how to manage them and get my work done. Any tips?
