Is Soho House membership worth it?
Newton have always had quotas on number of grads making probation (which itself is ridiculous), but seems to be getting even worse with the recession coming. Beware before you accept a grad offer, but as many as 30-40% seem to have been cut by ‘failing probation’ from some cohorts Newton Europe Limited

150K is around 7K per month (exact is 7.4K but assume some taken out because of pension/student loan).
- 800 food (home and takeaway)
- 300 council tax
- 300 house bills
- 100 phone bills
- 700 car, petrol, insurance or other transport
- 2500 for rent
- 500 for misc expenses
Leaves 2,000 for savings per month
So all this seems comfortable
£50 each person in a couple - check EE
I’m on £150k as a single early-20’s and wouldn’t say I’m comfortable at all. I’d put the number for a (sole provider) couple at £400-500k.

D2 nonsense the top 1% average income in london is 700k. I am talking about working mid level professionals trying to have a middle class lifestyle which is increasingly difficult and is not a concern for 0.1%
So average salary in London is 30K. Is it liveable or fair? Not really. Ppl with that salary usually have roommates. If you want to live comfortably without roommates, then making at least 80K would suffice if you were renting. If you want to save up to eventually buy a house in 4-5 years time, then you might need a salary of like 90K+ because once you factor in downpayment and stamp duty for a home you start to realise that this shits expensive. On top of that, you’d need to live quite frugally because cost of living can add up quickly.
