What's a good UX crash course?

Depends what you want to do with it. If you want to just start learning about how to think from a user perspective and apply UX strategy techniques, check out Jared Spool’s leaders of awesomeness. It’s free and really informative 1 hour talks that happen every Monday. If you want to learn what UX is at a very basic level, look up AJ + Smart on YouTube,. They have a ton of great, approachable content about getting into UX, basic UX principles and more. If you’re looking for a boot camp, I don’t know, hopefully someone else can help with that.

I echo this as well!

I saw some good rated ones on Udemy that were pretty cheap. I was self-taught after getting my BFA so I never did a traditional course.

Check out Udemy for sure or Skillshare

You can also get a mentor and ask to shadow them as an unpaid apprenticeship

Just curious why as a DS you want to learn about UX? Just knowledge to partner better with stakeholders or you want to switch?

I’m going to quit in 2022. Posting here to hold myself to it. I was asked to work on a discrete project that shouldn’t take more than 4-5 hours which has now turned into me having to join a call with the client at 9 am the morning after thanksgiving.

Almost 5 years at a top 10 firm with a job offer at B4 for a 20% pay jump, is it worth taking the risk with further layoffs still being talked about? B4 will look better on my resume and the money will be nice, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the stress of a B4 lifestyle and potentially getting fired in a few months anyways.

Just curious how is the A&M model able to afford the compensation that is being quoted.

I recently moved teams due a better fit with my skills and a big org change at our company. I have been working for the company for 2+ years—longer than most at our org, and have contributed a ton to the company re: customer retention, conversion, etc. During this move and under a new manager is it a good time to ask about a promotion? I was debating waiting until after I am in the role for a few months, but no time like the present, right?
