What's a (non-political) opinion you hold that goes against what most people think?

If I pay on a date don't expect me to reciprocate in other ways like buying ingredients and cooking my date a full meal. It's about reciprocity more than it is equal pay in the workforce. I don't expect a guy to pay on every date, but I do expect them to pay on ones they initiated - it's just polite. And no I am not the problem with modern day feminism - modern day feminism accomplishes literally nothing except freaking normal people out with all the SJW bs

I think the "stranger danger" belief we teach our kids is horrible. I think 99.9999% of the people around us are amazing, and it is a shame if I fear or don't trust them just because one person somewhere is a danger. Teaching this to our children is, I feel, the primary reason for a lot of mistrust issues in our society. My kids are being raised without this concept, and are perfectly fine and happy to be with others.

I'm a male and a super feminist. I think that women should get equal everything but I also think that women who expect men to pay for things like the first date don't deserve equal pay. Most women hate when I say it but they can't get the best of both worlds. I'm also gay so don't tell me how I'll never get a girl

I believe reading the front page of ESPN.com is more valuable than the front page of WSJ, for both career and personal life.

@D2, we had a parenting 101 course in my HS. As part of the course, the teacher would call every student every night between 2-5AM. (This was on a landline - before cell phones were a thing). The student would have to answer the phone and say "Yes I'll feed the baby". If they missed one phone call they failed the course. Nobody who took the course ever got pregnant as a teen 😂

Weddings have gotten totally out of control from a cost standpoint. Not everyone can be the Queen of England. And don't get me started on destination weddings...

Here's mine: If a group is getting up from a restaurant table and someone left a choice bite of food untouched, it's OK to grab it and eat it on the way up from the table (if no one is looking)

"Follow your passion" is the stupidest advice you can give anyone. Get a job. Figure out what you like and are good at then get a better job that lets you do more of that and pays more. Repeat...

I'm a 24 and female. I believe paternity laws are outdated and ought to be closely examined in our era of "her choice". Her choice to keep the baby... and pay for it!

I hate modern day feminism and what it's done to dating. No I don't want to split the bill, no I will not sleep with you on night one, and yes I expect you to hold a door open for me and put effort into a date. On the flip side, I'm more than happy to cook a full meal for you on the next one. Not sure why the comments above had to bring equal pay into the equation - I should be able to make the same amount for the same type of work done, but still have you plan a date and then cook for you in return.

When I hear stories from my parents and grandparents of what dating was like back in the day, I am so envious - especially living in a huge metropolitan where most the guys I meet don't even have basic manners. Chivalry is dead and I hate that people are ok with it.

2 years of mandatory service after high school. Peace corps, military, law enforcement, teachers assistant, or other govt service. I think it would help ground people before starting their intended career.
