Something you can afford.
Every response will be too much
Haha haribo ring
3 years salary
That’s how much Michael Scott spent on Holly’s ring 🤣

Something logical. Only you can answer that. If she says no because of the ring size you dodged a huge ass bullet.
5-15k max. Really depends on you, her and your budget and salary. Go with lab made and it will be much cheaper and ethical. People say they lose their value but like, who's thinking about selling their ring if they know they're marrying the life-time partner? If a marriage is forever then so should the ring be. If you wanna upgrade later, you still didn't pay THAT much and can always keep that ring for trips etc.

Lol I wish I had watched this before my mini rant post below
Diamond industry will say 3 months gross salary. We spent about 5k combined for both our rings and happy with it.
4-6k
Spent 8k, my advice get a carat and call it good. Get the big one for the 25 year anniversary.
By the time you buy it you will have contemplated the cost of a flight to Africa to buy a blood diamond.
Bought a pretty good ring from Costco for 17k. Would recommend De Beers as well. Tiffany and Cartier if you plan to splurge more for brand than quality
I really hope I find someone who has the same approach to me as money and nice having things. That 25% of take home annual salary rule is quite something (at least that's what one of my female co workers years ago told me)
If I had the following scenario between two choices:
$13.5K for a perfect diamond ring
$6.5K for a bang for buck, nice (but not perfect) diamond ring, $4K additional towards vacation experience, $3K gift in the form of S&P 500 index ETFs (on average may grow 10% a year) where she can do whatever she wants with it
I would hope that this would be a no brainer choice for my future wife...
And in case the inevitable person starts judging me here, take a look how Europeans handle this kind of stuff (much more wisely than Americans)
If she's not stuck on a brand or specific ring, go to a custom jeweler and spend what you can afford. I got hosed with her wanting both a specific brand and ring. Still within my budget but paid double for something half the size it should have been. The lady like her turquoise box.
