New to project mgmt role. Is it being proactive to call out big deliverables due the day people return from holiday/PTO (that they didn't do before they left) or am I not respecting their time off?
I recently changed my employer with decent salary increment and a title bump(Manager). Unfortunately I am stuck with Manager who is really rude, micromanages and when asked for help shows authority. Every day since i joined has been miserable and I just don't feel motivated to work. Also work life balance has been sketchy. Changing jobs is really challenging due to immigration restrictions and bad economy. Any help fishes? How should I deal with this?

Thoughts on Big 4 -> PE ops role? 2 years out of undergrad, interviewing for a 2 year analyst role, would then do MBA afterwards. Interest post-MBA would be turnaround and restructuring Not a "name brand" firm. Smaller, local shop but role would have broad exposure across the firm and might involve work with investment team after year 1
What are the general expectations/responsibilities for a manager on a tech implementation? I know it depends on the role but generally speaking for most implementations?

Regarding layoffs, would anyone accept a pay cut to keep their current position? I wonder if that’s a viable solution when you have to cut costs, but also want to keep reasonably talented people.

Currently a PhD at a M7. Veteran, and obviously used to be at EY. Currently in qualifying phase and starting to looking to post-PhD life. How do the firms differ in how they treat advanced degrees (ie stick to PhD area or are you a generalist)? How do federal vs commercial practices differ when recruiting advanced degrees? I recognize that there might be a pay differential (pay isn’t important, I don’t want to go back to B4 due to tax/consulting dichotomy), just would be great to be federal.

I’m traveling to Maine from Georgia in a couple of weeks and will be flying into Boston and renting a car. I am reading about Mass. Covid travel rules and I am wondering if I would qualify as a transitory traveler since I’m just passing through. The website only talks about people that are driving through so I was wondering if anyone has done something similar recently. Also, if anyone has flown into BOS recently, how did they check to see if you exempt from the Covid rules?
