Learnt a trick awhile ago. Whenever my partner says something that she needs, finds frustrating, would appreciate, etc I make a note of it in my phone’s notes app.
Every time she has a birthday, anniversary, christmas etc, I always have a great go to list that I know she’ll appreciate. Doing this consistently over and over again is the real trick!
Some great recent gifts include bath bombs (she’s been trying to do weekly baths to relax more), socks with our dog printed on it, magazine subscriptions. At our next anniversary I’m getting her bag of a certain apple - she’s allergic to them all except one kind and we just moved states and this isn’t available anymore, so will hunt a bag or two down from a local farmer or ship interstate or something.
Accenture2 - depends on what it is. Like the Apple thing I mentioned, would be a nice surprise and know she doesn’t want it ongoing.
Lots of other little things like she saw a wind chime awhile ago and liked that. Also liked that it added background noise etc. We’re about to buy a new house so something I might do once we’ve settled in. It’s our 5 year anniversary in a few months so perhaps a wind chime with wood in it.
If we need it sooner, then we just buy it

Waterproof picnic blanket for city living, charging stand that turns my Apple Watch into a clock at night, tempur pedic pillow, waterproof/cushioned sleeve for laptop, 8 foot charging cable, blue light glasses, mini projector for watching movies, nice wet brush (for long hair of course), one year or a few month subscription to workout/streaming service... this post is making me realize how much of a nerd I am 🙃
All super useful
Like this post. Often best present is one you'd never buy for yourself. Buddy bought me a multi-tool for the car (leatherman). I wouldn't have spent 50-75 on it myself- but find i use it all the time
My biggest thing was that I wanted the leather case, and when REI had a sale, I finally just went for it

🤔don’t think I have ever received a gift under $100.
Fair enough. I received a cheese platter and gave a bottle of wine. Both $50 or under 🤷♂️
A really nice robe (mine is Ugg and I never knew I needed it in my life) or nice slippers, subscription to headspace or HBR, massage or facial. All about that comfy self care that I don’t have to spend my own money on.
When I was a child for the first time in my life the biggest box under the Christmas tree had my name on it. It was a Barbie townhouse. I never forgot it. I am old now and it remains the most memorable gift and I am certain it was under $100
