I moved from B4 to industry accounting about 5 years ago. I currently work as a corporate accounting manager at a software company. I recently hired an big 4 audit senior right out of public and I’m struggling to get him up to speed. Does anyone have an example of reasonable vs unreasonable expectations for a senior accountant moving to industry after 2-3 years at B4 audit?
Went from big 4 advisory to a lower/MM PE Ops role. Is it worth trying for MBB if my near-future goal is to do portfolio ops at larger PE fund? I’m worried my resume doesn’t have strong enough names
Currently considering offers from 2 big 4 firms for entry level audit opportunities. I’m a bit concerned about the burn out that everybody’s talking about in PA. Any advice on how to avoid it or at least minimize the effects?
Anyone make the jump from Big 4 to ACN? What were the biggest differences you noticed. Currently at a B4, and looking for a change.
Anyone have a link for interview questions for someone interviewing at a mbb firm from big 4 advisory? If you don't have a link posting a question you think I should be prepared for is appreciated
Got reached out to by a recruiter for a Principal Consultant Role at Infosys. Does anyone know what the equivalent t level is at big 4 firms and any insight into the role ? Thanks!

Any B4 to MBB experienced hires (excluding MBA recruiting) here? Would love to hear about any advice you have about applying.
Partner in big 4, mid 40s. Doing okay but lack motivation as I don’t respect what we do or most of my clients. Team is decent and I feel responsible for them but not excited about consulting. Never been in the industry. Very tempted to do a start up. Have a few ideas. I would love some advice. Either how to suck it up and stay the course or being brave to try something new.
Brand name versus type of experience. Assume experience at the brand name will be less relevant to what I want to do long-term. The “brand” in this case is not Big 4/MBB
1. What is the difference in strategy consulting and advisory (hours, work, companies)? 2. Do the big 4 do strategy consulting or is that MBB? 3. If you’re (hypothetically a first year) in an advisory role, can you switch to strategy consulting at another company?
Partners, what would be a typical monthly pension check be for MBB / Big 4? All firms welcome.
How much is each firms CPA bonus? Looking mostly for non big 4, big 4 seem pretty standard
What would FDD M1 comp be in Chicago at a mid-tier or b4 firm? Currently looking to make a move to the Midwest.
Is it weird that minutes after getting an offer from a Big 4, the office managing partner is inviting you out for coffee and top golf? I hadn’t even read the offer letter yet 🤣 Are audit seniors needed this badly?
Has anyone FIREed after working for a few years as an SM at Big 4? What did you do after quitting? Coast fire and work an easy job? Passive income? How much did you have banked ?
What other consulting firms have a prominent supply chain consulting practice besides MBB, the Big 4 accounting firms, and Kearney?
Anyone else worried about the future of advertising with all of the recent layoffs? Or is this a standard thing?
Sample interview answers to "what do you do as a strategy/management consultant"? I realize this seems silly but whenever I answer it, it really sounds so vague or like a really mundane job, not sure it I'm just overthinking.
We have an AMAZING nanny - we adore her and she is so great with our child. We are just using her for 6 months while we wait for our daughter to get into a nursery program. We didn’t talk about this up front - but, typically, what do you do in these situations for vacation/holidays? If she goes on vacation, do we still pay her for those days? If we go on vacation, do we still pay her for those days (supposing we give plenty of heads up)?
Considering offers from BCG Platinion and Salesforce right now. Still trying to get a grip on community and culture of both places. You find some pretty bad reviews for Platinion online but I always wonder whether the people who are content actually go out of their way to write reviews... Anyone with experience at either? Salesforce BCG Platinion
As an entry level analyst is it better to enroll in the Pre-Tax or Roth 401k ? What are the benefits of each?
I hate that I can’t just enjoy a quiet period instead of feeling like it means I’m about to get laid off
I went back to the office this month (3/4 days per week) and it’s been a positive experience. Plus it seems that some partners who are going in appreciated it. But the office is a 15 min drive away for me. Some people need to commute an hour plus to be there. Will they be at a disadvantage if they actually try to take advantage of hybrid WFH in the future?
Hiring @Trianz for mentioned positions. Please message me with the Role name and I will share the detailed job description. Thank you.
EY FSO Advisory roundtable master thread to discuss rating distributions and potential raise ranges.
Anyone know the top of the range for senior consultant at EY in their Healthcare practice?
Anybody has any advice for making passive income!!! Would really appreciate it. Only been 2 years out of college could use some guidance. Mostly interested in investments that help with the tax write off and create another stream of income. Willing to put in the effort till I’m the next Jeff Bezos lol
Gearing up towards salary negotiations, I've got 2 YOE and 66.668$ TC as a consultant with no benefits. My role description has changed quite a bit since I started and I'm now the only colleague with a qualified QA degree in my team. I am considering putting forward a proposal of a 25-30% increase to match my role as QA lead, is this to bold?
Hi all! I have an offer from EY-OTS. I’m giving up significant upside in industry (money, responsibility) for the role. Any EY-OTS alumni willing to spare 15 mins to talk about their experience? Thnx!
Offered to join Slalom as a Senior Director with a 90k raise compared to my SM role at Accenture. Any perspective on what a Sr Dir role at Slalom entails?
Anyone find it suspect when some Partners throw around "I'm sure we all would prefer to be in person..." type things? Like do you hate your family or something? Maybe I'm getting to used to remote work 😬
So I know layoffs suck. I’ve been laid off twice in 2 years (and I’m actually pretty good at my job.) But I just want to say, that each time my next gig has netted me a 20%+ salary increase. So jokes on them! I start my new job next week, so we shall see! Good luck to all of you who are starting over! You will succeed and know your worth!
