I’m a sixth year in lit. I think if you’re billing 180+/month, you’re pretty busy. Not so slammed that you can’t take on more work if you wanted to (a new case that you think is interesting and want staffed on, or opportunity to work with a new partner you want to impress), but busy enough that you can strategically yet diplomatically turn down work that you aren’t interested in or from partners you don’t really want to work with (but you still need to be careful how you do this).
