Singapore is 10.30 PM until restaurants need to stop serving food and drinks. Gatherings of up to five people. Zero cases for weeks now.

Literal curfews are pandemic theater, kind of like outdoor mask mandates (indoor is another story). It’s sort of “well we have to do something, and this is something” logic.

The only measure that *really* matters, honestly, is preventing people who don’t live together from spending time indoors together, ever (at least unless you have zero Covid cases, which will never be the case in the US and probably not in Europe). Sadly, that’s enormously costly from a mental health standpoint if sustained.

No more lockdowns here in FL!

Wait for it

We never really got to the point where we needed one.

Western Australia,
We had about 3 months of WFH but that was about it.

Never got one although cases are rising like crazy.

There's no curfew as such on the west coast

Really? Nothing down south that I know of. Maybe NYC is cautious.

I think theres a curfew for kids in some places in MD.. idk i cant keep up

Curfew is stupid need true lockdown or accept letting people die, you can’t 1/2 ass it.

Police, fire, hospital and schools, close everything else for a month and contain

Too many, although it’s uncertain at this point if vaccines will prevent transmission so it may not matter. There’s a strong chance this is something that just severely diminishes the symptoms of Covid while the virus actually spreads like wildfire into endemicity, irrespective of how many people are vaccinated.

It’s not much compared to most of the posts I’ve seen in this bowl, but I finally hit $10k NW after I started working FT in August.
Everyone in this bowl has been a tremendous help in this process. I’ve never been good at saving, so this is a big milestone for me. Thank you again to everyone who gives out advice in the bowl, it is truly invaluable. Happy NYE! ❤️

She’s feeling the lash back of a mother who’s looking to influence her decision and get an abortion before she starts this life. There are definitely some red flags with the guy with his income and that he doesn’t speak English, curious what others would do - what would your parents say? Mine would flip!

After reaching out to the general counsel on LinkedIn, I applied for an in-house job a month ago. I didn’t hear anything. A few days ago the general counsel reached out on LinkedIn and said she did not see my application in the mix but was hoping to and asked if I wanted to meet. I said I did apply, indicated I was interested in meeting, and asked if I could send my materials. She said yes and she would send me some times. I sent my materials and haven’t heard a thing. Any idea what is going on?

I've just recently been hired as an assistant manager at a Canadian outlet store. It's a small company in comparison to others, but there are over 10 locations spanning western Canada and NW united states. I'm curious as to what others in a similar position are getting as salary. I was offered $42k plus bonuses at the interview, but when called back I was offered $44.5k plus bonuses. I already accepted. Did I leave money on the table here?
