Transition from Compliance to Risk ? I work for major brokerage in compliance. I’ve been in this field almost 5 years. The person I work with made me absolutely hate my job and every day for past few months is soul destroying. He doesn’t share project work with me, he re writes my notes. I raised it with manager few times but not much happened. Never knew someone so difficult . Now risk wants to poach me to retain me in business.Am I crazy to even consider this ??

No one wears suits regularly in the office unless they’re going to court or has client events.

Male or female?
We used to be “business casual”. Now our policy is officially “casual”. So like nice jeans and a sweater etc are fine any day, but I wouldn’t wear like super distressed jeans full of holes and a pajama shirt lol. You can also dress up any look by just adding a blazer. A lot of people just keep a blazer or full suit at the office for emergencies but dress however.
If you’re an incoming first year I’d dress up more to start and see how others are dressing, but most people weren’t wearing suits daily anyway even in the before times, at least at our office, as long as you have some pants/skirts/button-down shirts/sweaters etc that are presentable you should be fine.
No need to invest in more suits. The dress code is very casual nowadays. Varies by firm but at mine jeans are appropriate any day of the week. I only dress up for firm events or clients closings.
Is it just me or when you said bodily change I assumed sex change lol
hey, congrats OP. I (wrongly) assumed weight gain
Depends on the geographic area…but in general things probably are the same as what they were like during your summer
It depends on which foreign market you’re from. For example, I found Hong Kong (pre-COVID) to be extremely casual compared to NYC
V5 old ny firm, business casual post-covid now unless meeting a client so just keep a suit in your office 🤷🏻♀️ not to say I haven’t seen people wear jeans at all seniority levels - I just … can’t bring myself to do it when trousers are obviously more comfortable than denim, especially in the summer
