What’s everyone’s experience with traveling these days - how often and for what reasons? And where do you anticipate it going? I’ve left consulting but considering coming back, under the assumption that the regular 4 day travel week is basically not coming back (tho obv client / project specific and certainly will make sense sometimes). Am I nuts?

Honestly, I’m done with covid. I’ve done all I can do, the rest is in God’s hands. Come at me telling me about how I don’t care about anyone but myself, x y and z. I quarantined, masked, vaxxed. What else can I do? I’m going to start living life like it’s 2019 again.

During my PTO, my SM called me and asked me to start plugging myself in and he mentioned that I don't want to be left behind. He asked me to set up a call during my PTO to "catch up" with the rest of the team. I cannot wait to get out of this company as this is kinda touching my bottom line.

Please advise: Sent an email to a partner explaining that I want to take a step back in an initiative because project has been long hours, and I wanted to focus my energy on something else I’m more interested in, and offered to help the next person to transition. I was just told by my manager that taking a 2 week vacation would look bad while staffed on a client project. I’ve already been on this project for over a year and another extension is coming. Take 1week, he said. My husband and I planned to travel to Europe from the west coast which is expensive and time consuming. We don’t want to limit ourselves to 1 week. Has anyone else run into this type of situation? Can management really dictate how long you can get away - if you have the days accrued?
