What’s everyone’s thoughts on leaving to work at a fund after only doing 1 year in audit, rather than 2-3 years? Would you take the opportunity if you got it?

If you work in financial services fund accounting jobs are a dime a dozen. They will always be there

What's the job at the fund? Fund accounting? No way. The trajectory is more favorable in public. I audited Vanguard and also did internal audit over their fund accounting group. Don't do it.

I would encourage you to get promoted before leaving, otherwise you will have to keep on answering why u left big 4 after only 1 year for the rest of your life.

But, don’t blame me when u lose the chance to get rich out of that fund accounting job.

I think in a fund accounting job there are chances of moving up faster compared to public accounting

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

In the Job portals , its so rare recruiters asking for oracle cloud. Looks like canada do not have much oracle projects. Hence I learned AWS. Want to make use of my knowledge but how?B4 Advisory teams do not have good oracle practice. Agree?

It's our own fault that we end up with low salaries. Recruiter, consultancies call and ask for current CTC. And eager candidate just blurts it out. The HR simply puts a 30% markup and releases a statement saying this is Max we can do.
This is the max they can do for your CTC. If someone else comes with higher CTC, their final number will also go up.
Refuse to share current CTC. Tell them to offer you what they can. More people start doing this, only then will things improve.
