Agree. I am facing the same. Every thing is going up except the salary at this speed.

If you work from home, you might not need as many cars and definitely don't need dry cleaning. Your lifestyle costs have now deflated.

Very true.. But, offices will eventually open and we’ll be stuck with inflated prices😩

Just bought a new car, and only got $1000 off of sticker price. Trade in value was ridiculously good, so didn’t care.

You know there is massive supply and part shortage right? Factories lead time for cars is long and the auto industry forecasted lower demand so produced less. When they realized it wasnt going to be the big drop they expected, it was too late to increase supply. This was compounded by massive shortage in computer chips.

Currently working at Accenture as a C (promoted Dec ‘19), but I know I ultimately want to make the jump over to Deloitte. I am on track to be promoted to M in the 2021 promo cycle and I know Deloitte would likely knock me down one level either way. Due to COVID-19, it seems like it doesn’t make sense to jump ship for at least another year while things get back to normal. Any thoughts on if it’s better to wait it out and leave after making M (but how long after?) or try to leave earlier? TIA

HELP! Roommate is being insistent on not allowing either of us to go out due to covid (except for groceries). We live in Chicago, and phase 4 is starting in a few wks meaning most places will re-open with limited capacity. I’m not trying to go crazy here and hit up every club/restaurant/public place. But I’d like to enjoy a meal out or a small gathering at a friend’s place, things like that (w/ all proper precautions in place) but roommate is not cool with it -how to approach?

I’m in second trimester. I just came from my grandfather’s funeral, outside. My aunt was around her 2 siblings last week that had Covid and she hasn’t been vaxed. She hugged me and mom (4 weeks from her last chemo session) and only told us about her siblings after. I’m so mad. I guess I’m just venting but the potential complications for the baby, me, and my mom make me worry. Any comforting words?

So.. my husband and I live across the country from my family, including my young nieces. We haven’t seen them since before COVID and are not seeing anyone inside who is not vaccinated in our life, and this has not been a problem. We made a plan to vacation with my family to see them again this summer. My BIL is refusing to get vaccinated. Everyone else is vaccinated. My parents and sister aren’t happy about it but feel there is nothing they can do.

A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?

Question for the group. I am an experienced individual currently searching to get out of private and into public. I am a CFE and Certified Technology Business Management Executive (CTBME) with an MBA and am scheduled to take AUD of CPA on May 13th. I really enjoy project work as the monthly grind has worn very, very thin. Opinions?

In a world of remote consulting work…. How long can the US maintain its high premium over European and, esp. developing market consulting? Both price tag to clients and significantly higher salaries for the people. I imagine may move faster at Big 4, etc. than MBB, but within MBB the huge cost and salary differentials feel… increasingly hard to maintain (even though I think the differential has actually gotten bigger, not smaller in the last two years). Thoughts?
