We back to normal on 4th of July?

The only thing I used was a hair tie, chapstick, nice smelling shampoo and conditioner for the first shower, a hairbrush, and clothes for me and baby to go home in. Everything else was unused. Lol
I’d suggest snacks either way - I wasn’t allowed to eat during labor and was so happy I had something on hand. If you give birth in the middle of the night and can then eat, you’ll be happy you had snacks!
Just had a baby in July. I brought soft pajama set, the ones that open in the front. Robe. Toiletries, chap stick. Nipple butter. Snacks. Pump (optional).
Pillow. Baby outfits, you only need like two. Nursing bras. Car seat
The hospital will provide the mesh panties, witch hazel pads, dermaplast, ice packs etc. But confirm this. They also provide diapers, Vaseline, wipes, blanket, for baby. If you need pumping stuff they can help too.

Just fyi don’t bring any cute PJs or nightgowns. Bleeding plus milk coming in equals stains
I would add a pillow/blanket for your husband.
YOUR OWN PILLOW. Hospital pillows blow. Bring a pillow you love!
Shampoo / conditioner. Hair dryer / straightener if that’s your thing and a little makeup (for those leaving the hospital pics). I’m not saying go full glam, but you might want to clean up a little. 1 comfy outfit to go home in. 1 comfy outfit for baby to go home in. 1 custom baby swaddle for the hospital (if you want). Phone charger. A book or iPad to entertain yourself with the day after baby is born - you basically just chill at the hospital all day. Easy slip on sandals for the hospital. Space in your bag or an extra bag for the hospital “freebies.”
Also, an eye mask. You’ll sleep so much better no matter how bright your room is or the time of day you want to nap.
One unexpected thing that was useful - baby mittens. Less so for the baby and more for the sake of my nipples (she clawed at me in the early days before the milk came in). If you don’t have mittens, socks will do
What KP1 said. I packed so much stuff and used none of it. I found the most helpful: chapstick, mini toiletries to shower, hairbrush, moisturizer, long charging cord for your phone, a dress or nightgown you can nurse in if you’re breastfeeding, nursing pillow (if BF), a more comfortable blanket (but one you don’t mind getting messed up in case), and an easy outfit to go home in. The hospital will set you up with recovery items (mine did), socks, hospital gown obviously. But the blankets always suck. Oh and pack snacks for sure.
I overpacked around 35w and have since taken so many things out (39w). I pretty much removed any postpartum and diapering items since the hospital provides most of it.
What I kept: Pajamas and going home outfit, boppy, makeup/toiletries, shower 🩴, two newborn outfits, one 0-3m outfit as backup, swaddle and name tag for announcement photo, snacks, stroller fan, and 10ft phone charging chord.

Oh girl you are doing so right by the fan. Since COVID my hospital had no fans allowed and I was overheated 15 min into pushing

Labor support items: essential oils, massager, affirmation cards, TENS unit, hair ties, chewing gum, water bottle, headphones or speaker
Postpartum: toiletries, flip flops, robe, eye mask, long cell phone charging cord, going home outfit for you and baby, Velcro swaddle, pacifiers, snacks
I second the pillow but we brought two (one for me, one for my husband). Also needed a humidifier that my parents dropped off later. Agree on the above too!
A cute swaddle for baby - taking the first pictures is a big deal! Also postpartum pjs - you can get on Amazon for $40 and they really help make you feel more human. I didn’t get any with my first and just wore a hospital gown the whole time, but with my second I wore the new pjs and I would def get them again next time around
Easy slippers are important, but ones that can be washed, rather than Uggs or similar
