What's it like to date a doctor? Are they always busy (obviously in a good way), are they all very disciplined, what characteristics can I expect?

I dated a resident briefly (less than a year) - always busy, tired, and stressed. Depends on how each person manages their emotions. We would exchange a few messages throughout the day but only spent dedicated time together on the weekends. Very organized and liked to plan everything out, but I don’t know if this was a doctor thing or just a personality trait!

How busy they are depends on the specialty and where they are at in their careers. Doctors are all different in terms of personality and temperament. My s/o is very direct/serious at work with his colleagues and patients . At home, he’s a total goofball, in a good way.

When we started dating, I was the busy one as I was on travel engagements and we saw each other mostly on weekends. Several years later, Doc is the busy one... on call, emergencies etc. Doc is quite disciplined when it comes to health, not being a spend thrift, making sure the kids eat healthy and being relatively calm when dealing with people.

Dating a medical student (almost resident) and I’m pretty involved in their study and work life just because it’s all they really have time for rn

My ex was a plastics resident and I was with him from undergrad. Very disciplined and high will power. Studies and practice were very draining. If anything compared to back when I was traveling, they had it worse since we could at least retreat back to an expensed hotel and meal. He slept in a bunker in between shifts and ate very sad meals.

I just had this startling realization as my firm just announced that returning to office will be optional until 2021. Given we’re literally home all the time and it’s harder to unplug than ever....what is the compelling reason to have the outlook app on your phone? Seems like deleting it can be a way to create a digital wall when there is no longer any semblance of a physical wall between work and home. And it might be good for my health! Thoughts?
