What’s next after auto? My health has taken a turn and I am no longer able to sell like I used to. Does anyone have any suggestions for another sales field with less stress and hours? I understand sales is by nature stressful but there has to be an industry where it’s less so than your typical Saturday at the dealership.

There are businesses - like Indeed - that have industry-specific sales teams that cater to the Auto industry. Since you know Auto you could try to get a job as an Account Executive for a company’s Automotive Vertical (Industry) team.

B2B Outside sales is much less stressful. I came from the car business myself. Not getting more than 1 day off at a time was not my cup of tea. Now, I mostly work from home, 9 -5 and I get weekends off and a lot of PTO

No problem, good luck!

Check out Aspireship and try to get into SaaS sales. You could start as an SDR and make somewhere between 40-60k base + 15-30k variable, work from home, and get decent benefits. It's the top position being hired in tech right now and often background doesn't matter.

I agree - I have hired those from the auto sales industry as well. Work from home positions are much less stressful on the body. Would recommend a remote/virtual sales/AE role or starting as SDR

like

Agree. Get into some kind of tech/Saas sales where you can wfh. SDR or BDR would likely be your route in as those are entry level and you work your way up.

I made 79k last year and I’m on track for much less this year due to the shortage and the expenses associated with the pre owned options available costing more at auction. No one is making any money

Maybe even consulting, although there are certain times where the wrong client can be extremely stressful.

I've been working with copywriters (my CD and ECD) for years and only with freelance ADs. I have no standard or work ethic to compare to. I'm planning to leave this place soon so I need to know what great ADs do in these top agencies. I could be assigned a partner in the next agency so the AD/CW dynamic is something I have to learn as well. I feel like I'm so far behind.

Should I renege offer from MBB?

An MBA recent grad. I signed with MBB last year. However, I have always wanted to do tech PM. I couldn’t find PM job in Fall and just signed MBB offer I have. I recently got an FAANG offer. It’s PM function, hard to break in with consulting experience. I declined the new offer during interview stage and again after they gave me initial offer, but it is coming back with 80k more in annual compensation. It made me so torn!! Should I renege MBB offer?

I’m working with a leader from LinkedIn Sales Solutions and they want me to come speak to their team on how consulting sells so they can better support professional services firms. I’m trying to figure out an easy framework to explain it. What are some specific nuances of our selling that I’m missing:

1. Practice: Function vs. industry vs. Account

2. Pipeline: BD to find opps vs. RFPs

3. People: MDs/Partners are the “sellers” but analysts, managers, and SMs do a lot of the heavy lifting
