What lessons are you looking forward to teaching the most this year? I always look forward to teaching the 60s and the Civil Rights movement
Ladies I had a difficult breakup today (actually this breakup dragged on for two months). Hard lesson but love is not enough without commitment. Commitment is an active choice
Still facing a $17k loss on PSTH. Should I cut bait? Learned my lesson already but unsure if I should continue to ride it out.
My flatmate got job opportunity at TCS with 4 years of experience with package 15lpa, he showed his offer letter to me. He passed out from same college and done b.tech only then worked at IBM then switch. I am earning less than 1/3 of his package. Lesson: don't be loyal to your company, never.
My personal PC hard drive crashed - taking with it 8 years of family pics, among other things. Backup lesson learnt. Having said that, data recovery specialists are asking for $900 to recover drive contents. What would you do? No-brainer for me, but other thoughts?
I have a 5th grade demo lesson tomorrow and the school would like for me to do it on social emotional learning. Any suggestions on what I can do?
Does anyone have to use an online lesson book?
Is there any American History Teachers out there using this text book? I'm retiring and the end of this year, and want to pass on Lessons and very cool Crossword Puzzles I've made for every section of this book! I realize mine is the Florida edition. But pretty sure any state edition's text will be the same. I'm not sure the easiest way to get them to you. I'll figure that out if anyone is interested!
Advice on holding/selling: I started investing last year, mostly in index funds but also in ETFs of sectors I believe most in (renewables, hydrogen, biotech). These of course did great then terrible… I still think there will be huge investment in these in coming years but now understand how overvalued they were when I got in. Is it worth holding on despite 20-30 percent losses, or are even worse times ahead/will get eaten up by fees? Lesson learned to not overindex on growth…
Recommendations on sailing lessons in Chicago?
Any tips on facilitating a lessons learned?
Learned a hard lesson today need to complete one return then move in to the next instead of having multiple projects open. How we I’m feeling overwhelmed if I do it that I will for sure get behind. In fact I can feel myself getting behind I’m working like crazy hours. I’m just not sure what else to do ....
Hardest lesson of the week: the more you move up and your peers and those that roll up to you start seeing you as a leader, the less friendly and close you can get to them bc liability. 😩
Any one of you made a plan to save for your home’s down payment? My SO and I have to just start with this process and your experience and lessons learnt will help us plan and achieve our goal efficiently.
I’ve realized that because socks don’t last long, it’s best not to get attached to them. Maybe this lesson applies more broadly. But I’m sure it at least applies to socks
Any successful first day lessons that worked for you virtually? I want to do what I usually do but with a modified online platform.... I’m too afraid of trying and it glitching or not working 😓 should I change it or give it a try?
Need info from people who has got their visa stamped in Canada - are the docs required different from the documents you need if you go for stamping in your home country?
Hi Fishes, Could you help me to know what are the options we have after working as Big 4 Auditor (asset management sector) if we want to switch and no longer interested in Audit?
Does anyone have recommendations on how to decide your next career move? Been at Deloitte for ~2 years & trying to decide between moving to MBB, corporate strat, a start-up, or small PE firm. I know these are all extremely different but torn on which to pursue. Any recommendations, stories, or regrets on when you moved from Big 4 to somewhere else??
Hi 🐠 I am 34 and single. Thinking to plan a baby using a sperm donor before I run out of time. How can I have a baby and support her/him with a traveling? Anyone in similar situation? Tips?

Any women in NJ with kid(s) that are divorced? What is it like to share custody? How do your kids deal with it?
Currently at a Big 4; director; AI tech strategy and performance improvement; looking for a change. Who’s open to a referral, and earning a referral bonus? Prefer to stay in US consulting.
STAFFING IMMEDIATELY: - New SC or strong C - Must have public health background - DMV area (Falls Church Fairview Park office, but remote during COVID). Email email@example.com if interested and available.
How much is your rent? I make about 120k per year and live with my parents since covid started. Hoping to move out but NYC is super expensive. Need a baseline, no financial support from parents (low income) so have been saving in hopes of buying.
Non-Fiction book recommendations please?
Advice please! How would you organize yourself? I've been studying for the GMAT 3 months so far and on my last practice exam (3 weeks ago) I scored 670. My goal is 750 so I feel that I need at least another month to study. I also have a MBB interview in Feb/March and I need to start practicing casing... ASAP. I've never been the organized type so I feel like I am drowning with work, +1 work, etc. What would you do? Wish there were more hours in the day :(
For all fired this year, do you put you were discharged on your background checks? Got an offer for a job and heard EY doesnt share if you were fired or left after resigning. Need help plz
Did anyone go from Big 4 to Big law here? Wondering what that was like/if it’s even possible.
Family law associate. I run a docket of about 40-50 cases and work about 50 hours a week. I currently make about 125K (self-employed, no benefits). Between jury trials for CPS termination cases and the highly adversarial nature of family law, I find this job to be incredibly draining, as I have horrid work/life balance and struggle with constant anxiety. I recently got an offer with a personal injury firm. 110K, full benefits, for a non-litigation/docket manager role. Thoughts?
Good Day to all, Would like to know how recruiters get compensated? I am asking because it seems a lot of (not all) the recruiters especially the once from India are trying to get me at a lower salary then is actually being offered by the companies they are representing.
🌞 'Morning creative fishes. I don't usually post about open positions here, but thought I'd give it a shot. I'm hiring for a few Product & UX design roles. Open to different levels, but favoring Sr- to Lead-level folks; design project leadership & strategic thinking are a must, as well as some solid evidence of craft. Chicago-based, hybrid innovation consulting company <50ppl. Excellent team culture and work-life balance, high-EQ leadership. DM if interested!
Curious if anyone has advice if I should look for another job. My boss is a micro manager, not big on WLB, I don’t see an opportunity to independently work on projects ever and there is no path to promotion since it’s a very small team. On the flip side, he’d take me to all exec meetings and it’s been in an incredible learning experience to be in those rooms, listening and knowing where I’m making an impact. He’s been a good coach and thinks highly of me. (Contd.)
6 YoE at a bank and incoming offer from Deloitte financial services NYC. I will likely not move for less than 170k TC. Is this fair? Am interviewing at Mck and they pay same post mba comp to all.
