Don't beat yourself up if you can't hit your target score after months of studying

Depends a lot on how much time you have honestly. It mostly becomes a question of how much of that effort would be better spent on other things. I spent 2 years prepping on and off, and I think it really paid off (770 in a competitive year still got me scholarship money at M7 even coming from a no name firm)

Practice tests are more effective than doing sets of practice problems (once you've worked up to proficiency in all areas)
Dont brute force practice problems..focus on your weakpoints

Second this. This is incredibly important. There’s a large but finite number of questions types. I’d strongly recommend trying to figure out which are your weakest and attacking those first
Don’t “take a break.” You lose a ton of momentum and motivation if you take some time off from studying (e.g., between test #1 and starting studying for test #2). Keep yourself in gear a focused for a few more weeks and take test #2, then be done with it for good

Manhattan Prep is the best gmat prep out there. They have an online program. Good luck!
Dont take 3 different courses at the same time.

At least for GMAT it’s almost as much about learning to take the test (timing, skipping strategies, etc) than the actual math.
Consider the GRE
