Hello, I have received an offer from Southwest Airlines as a Associate Technology Analyst with their direct college hire program. Will be graduating in May with a degree in MIS and also have internships experience as a Business Systems analyst intern. The salary compensation started off at 66,500 but was looking for the 75k range and they got back to me saying the best they can do is 68,500. They also have a 401k company match up to 9.3%. Do you think this is a solid offer for this job market?

more security for the agency, because the holding company can supplement short earning years, rather than firing people.
True on above. Which is a nice to have. But you’re then beholden to the network/holding company and their processes - including financial recording, mgmt fees and procurement. I’ve witnessed the effects many times. Most of the time the main byproduct is the loss of that independent creative spirit. And treating your people the way you’d like.
Usually money for the principals, and a nice exit strategy. Otherwise, the occasional network client.
Ah so, basically the dudes at the top make off with some cash? That's kind of a bummer
@OP - the "dudes at the top" are the people who worked their asses off starting the agency up and growing it to be good enough to be worth buying.
Thats not an easy thing to do. Hundreds of startup.agencies fail every year. So the "dudes at the top" deserve that payout. And for a lot of people it's kind of the point of starting up your own thing.
Sure you can be a dreamer and say you're starting the next W+K or 72&Sunny, but if that doesn't work out, at least you can get a hefty buyout.
Indeed. And that’s fine. It is hard work. And uncertain. Hope there are a few dudettes though too.
