How much do M&A Tax MDs and Partners make at non-B4 firms?

How painful is it to leave B4? Seems like a near impossible task to leave and get compensated for time towards pension, exit fines/penalties, capital tied up during non-compete period, required garden leave, etc. Not to mention restarting the clock. Have a really compelling opportunity but not sure the money will work even w/ a 30-40% increase in total distribution. Anyone been through this lately?

Wondering how much a Partner makes in Big 4 consulting? Is there really that big of a difference at the Partner level compared to MBB (starting 7 figure)?

The weeks are stressful. Friday nights I usually reward myself with a couple glasses of wine or drinks and my husband always makes comments like “why are you drinking?” “You’re such an alcoholic”.
