Straight razor
I've never heard of that brand
Get a safety razor until you're ready to graduate up to a straight edge. It's the step between
Straight razors scare the shit out of me. I don't think I can use one just yet lol
Then don't expect a really close shave.
Sassy^
Dollar shave club is pretty comparable to Gillette a lot cheaper, and it doesn't require a trip to the store.
Nut up, get a single-blade safety razor and some shave soap. Move to a straight razor after that if you feel confident or want to show off.
Agree w pwc3. I switched to Harry's then went old-school and now use double edge. Merkur handle, proraso green soap. Now shaving is no longer a chore.
Gillette
Any brand. You will need to shave everyday like a normal man
Dorcousa.com sells wholesale razors that are marked up by shave club. The razors are just as good as Gillette and are much much cheaper.
Gellitte, the best the man can get!
I've done Gillette, then went to Dollar Shave Club, then got Harry's as a gift. I liked the Harry's a lot better and cancelled my DSC membership and have been using Harry's for about 3 years now.
I exited the Gillette Mach Whatever years ago, fed up with the price of disposable razor blades. I took up wet shaving with a double-edged safety razor, the razor of your grandfather/great grandfather. Wish I had done it earlier. Replacement blades cost pennies. You'll find yourself appreciating the act of shaving on a level you've never experienced before as a member of a uniquely masculine club. I confess, the money you save on razor blades will be giddily spent on finely crafted razor handles, shave brushes, and shaving soap pucks, but it's all worth it. Open the door and enter the domain of fine gents, including John Wayne and Winston Churchill, by taking up wet shaving. If you're manly enough.
I use the Merkur 34C and the Muhle R41. For handles, the Germans just do it right. For facial products, I trust the English - D.R. Harris Arlington, for me - though the Italians do fine with Proraso. If you want the sharpest blades, Japanese Feather brand. My advice for straight razors is to buy new. Don't try to save money with a refurbished blade. I did and it ate my handsome face off.
