@ba1: no I didn’t

That requires getting another job first. I meant in-firm

Talk to your counselor. They should be able to get you off the project. If they can't quit...

I quit lol - best move I’ve made yet! 👍🏻

Started mid-market recently and trying to feel out the dynamics. Seems like none of my stuff is reviewed in depth by manager+ and opportunities to talk things out is limited. Is that just how things are in public? Does the senior “own” the project?

Post-MBA, 5 weeks into consulting and I hate the weekends. It means I’m one week deeper in the job, and therefore performing another week lower than the level I’m expected to perform at. I have fucked up so much (led a disastrous client meeting, mistakes, slow to answer Qs, etc). My boss is picking up that this isn’t a “new” issue, its a me issue. I try my best to improve but I still feel so anxious, to the point that I started crying at my desk. What do I do? Anyone here quit within a month?

Any tips? Dealing with resourcing issues for one of our largest clients. We have enough hours, just waiting for more experienced team members to be hired to complete it. We’ve reprioritized work so many times to get what we can done with the team we have, but still have important items waiting to be completed with more Sr. Folks. We’ve also borrowed from other teams, but it doesn’t cover up the fact we could be getting the work done faster with the right team. Advice for dealing with the client?

When your firm requires billable hours, how are they calculated? Actual vs realized (I.e. what you put on your billing sheet vs what is billed to the client). Does your firm differentiate? Which number do they go by? My mind is somehow not comprehending how some big law hours are under my small firm requirement?

Needing help on deciphering my true salary for the time being. I graduated at 17 with an associate’s in Cyber Defense. The company I am with has me listed as a field service specialist(6 month intern, 4month full time), however, I’ve picked up on different roles like project manager, systems admin, project engineer etc. I’ve been getting good experience but at what point do I need to discuss salary or move on? I’m currently making 45k which I feel like is low after gaining some insight .

I work for 12 hrs a day and my manager says to book 4 hrs a day on the given code that too for 1 month only. And i am deployed on the same project from last 2 months. What would you do if you were in such situation. I am new to the organisation so don't know how it works

If you got a job offer (which you declined) from an entity who later became a client and you are scheduled to work on that entity who became a client, do you let engagement partner know?

I've been noticing a new trend in biglaw passive aggressiveness: Adding a question mark to a non-question when you're following up on something. E.g., "Hi X, just wanted to check in on Y as the client would like to see a draft as soon as possible? When can we expect this?"

And to the people who do this... why?

Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? I went client side and am miserable - it’s madness on this side. Have made it 90 days and would prefer not to make it more than 120 - but we’re in a pandemic. Half of the problem is that I “onboarded” remote and the onboarding was TERRIBLE. The other thing is that there is no process and I’m on a team full of managers who have spent 15 years at this company and have no availability to talk to me with a day full of meetings. I’d prefer not to quit without a backup but I cry every day.

I've been working at a company for just over a year now and have discovered my pay is way below what I should be on - I'm a senior and my male equivalent is on double what I'm on.
Recently having a pay review my boss tells me it was a mistake that I've got senior on my job contract and it should've been mid consultant, however my boss now considers me a senior and I can get a pay rise at the end of the year. What would you do? Do I wait till the end of the year for a pay review?
