Hello,
Last Wednesday I was able to get a Deloitte job referral, I applied the next day. Yesterday I signed in to my account and it shows that I applied for the job but when I click on the link it show me an error page. I searched for the job on the website itself and it disappeared. There were like multiple positions but different locations, now they’re all expired. What does this mean? Did they choose a candidate already? It’s weird it never happened to me before
Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

Lots of similar questions lately. I made the jump two years ago. Depending on level, strategies differ. Online postings yield little for jobs above manager level. Best opportunities come from working your network. Connect with former clients and colleagues. Ask them what they’re seeing in the market. Signals your interest. Ask well connected friends for intros to headhunters - they are more open to meeting people who come with a warm intro from someone they’ve worked with in the past. Be deliberate. It takes time. You gotta work for it.
Of the two best opportunities I considered, one came from a former client who was looking to plan her own succession. The other from a friend who introduced me to his CEO neighbor. Lots of stuff surfaced later. Months after I landed my new gig. Though I was settled and happy in a new role, I always talked and tried to be helpful in sharing back to my network.
👆🏻 echoing this. You can land roles via LinkedIn or recruiters, for sure, but might be sold one opportunity, start, and realize reality is a totally different situation. Best opportunities are generally network-driven and can take time.
I got my job by answering a LinkedIn job post.
