Give it a 5 second gentle shake when you pick it up, and then if you’re wearing it even a little during the day you should be fine. Otherwise, just let it run down and set it when you put it on.

I use a group of Boxy winders. Reasonably priced and can expand as your collection grows.

There are plenty on Amazon that will do the trick. One watchout on those— If you have a bigger watch make sure the case isn’t scraping the lid before you walk away.

Be careful going too cheap on a winder- if it’s not well-shielded it can magnetize your watches, and if you’re keeping it in a quiet area like a bedroom or office, louder ones will be annoying.

Do most people even need a watch winder? I understand if it's a perpetual calendar....

Most people don’t need automatic watches...

Always thought I would be with a NYC guy on fun, fancy dates in my future. Realizing now that everyone wants casual there, and in my hometown (here for covid), I make significantly more than most guys I go on dates with, many haven’t gone to college, but we have more similar interests and they are interested in a serious relationship. It feels like I’m settling and I’m so jealous of the people who do have the fun, exciting life in the city I dream of.

My brother and sister in law put their five month old in daycare for the first time on Friday. Yesterday they get told by the daycare that there was covid exposure, so they test him and he’s positive. So he literally got covid on his first day at daycare. No symptoms yet but wtf. We saw them on Saturday with our two week old so now we are freaking out that the two week old could have it (my mother in law literally used the other kids burp cloth to wipe my kids face when I wasn’t watching).

Curious how you manage working when a toddler is home from daycare due to covid exposure? I’m at a new company and this happened almost immediately - my spouse doesn’t work remotely and so it’s almost all on me (luckily I have family that are able to help when they can too). I was “working” but with a clingy toddler who doesn’t yet do independent play it was a challenge. I told my boss and my team but curious if you would cancel or reschedule meetings that you could? One on ones were impossible!

I’m curious: At what number of booster shots too much for you? (I’m not sure about country differences but for example: UK 3 shots is now vaccinated and Israel is going from 3 to 4 shortly) I say this not because I think the vaccine is bad (stops severe disease) but I remember quite clearly the messaging was you take the two, you won’t get or spread COVID and therefore life goes back to normal. Now this clearly isn’t the case have you changed your stance?

Indexed Universal Life Insurance (IUL) - Anyone have one of these ? Never heard of this until the other day when a financial planner mentioned it. He said it’s a better vehicle than 401K. I took what he said with a grain of salt because he was trying to acquire customers, but I haven’t heard anyone talk about it here. At a quick glance it seems pretty solid. Anyone have experience ? Pros/Cons ? Something to add on including the standard 401K, Roth, HSA, etc ?
