Hello, I had applied to the KPMG Transformational Delivery Advisory Associate position, my application status has now been changed to “Not under consideration “. I’m trying to understand if there’s something wrong with profile. My background: I’m a Biomedical Engineer. I’m currently pursuing an MBA and my GPA is 3.6. I’m gutted because this role was something that I was very much interested in exploring. KPMG

IT is so broad. What do you want to do?
My fault, I should’ve stated but application development.
I am aware that having a personal portfolio is king but it’s been a bit tough trying to work on that at the moment because of school, extracurriculars, and extensive job hunting.
I'm not a dev type and it has been a decade since I graduated so take this with a grain of salt.
As an undergrad you can convey relevant coursework and projects. I think you're right in a portfolio being key but you can also take online courses in say python or w.e. language you prefer then add those to your resume. Basically what I'm saying is SEO up your resume with the type of work you want to do.
Also, reach out to alumni if you can to see if you can talk to someone at the company versus blind throwing your resume in the hat.
I think theres a huge demand so don't be discouraged. Its also possible they just weren't the right fit. In interviews I've always been more honest and conveyed what I can do then caveat things I can't do with no I've never done that but that falls under this scope of things I'm excited to learn about so,given the opportunity, I am confident I can learn and excel. Quels the imposter-bug and most good companies recognize it's entry level anyways so more important is you're passionate about it, teachable, and professional (or fit culturally, which varies). And recognize youre not marrying it, I applied to probably 100+ jobs out of UG (cold so not what I recommend) Just go where you think you'll learn in and you can move on when you stop growing.
